Explosions shake Lutsk, ballistic missile hits Chernihiv in major Russian attack

In the early hours of June 6, Russian forces launched a large-scale assault on several regions of Ukraine using attack drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles. Explosions were reported in both Lutsk and Chernihiv as the strikes unfolded, according to Lutsk Mayor Ihor Polishchuk and the head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration, Dmytro Bryzhynskyi.
Indeed, in Lutsk, local authorities reported that air defense forces engaged an enemy attack drone. Meanwhile, in Chernihiv, ballistic missile strikes were confirmed.
“Explosions from ballistic missiles were recorded on the outskirts of the city,” stated the head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration.
Massive attack on Ukraine
On the night of June 5 to 6, Russian forces launched attack drones and missiles across Ukraine from several directions. According to local media, Ukrainian air defense units engaged enemy drones over Kyiv and Odesa regions, while explosions were also heard in the suburbs of Poltava.

“There are several Tu-95MS strategic bombers in the air. They likely launched cruise missiles,” the Ukrainian Air Force noted.
