On the night of Friday, June 6, the Russian army launched attacks on Ukrainian territory using strike drones. The city of Chernihiv came under fire, reports Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration.

Around 12:53 a.m. Kyiv time, Bryzhynskyi reported that Chernihiv is under drone attack.

“The city is currently being targeted by Shahed drones. Preliminary reports indicate a strike on an apartment building,” he wrote.

However, by 1:13 a.m., he clarified that the explosion from a Shahed drone was recorded near the apartment building, resulting in damage to the doors and windows of the building.

Night attack on Ukraine

It is also confirmed that Kyiv is currently under drone attack, with air defense systems actively engaged in the capital.

Additionally, on the night of June 5–6, Russian forces launched strike drones and missiles on multiple fronts across Ukraine.

On the night of June 5, Russia targeted Pryluky in the Chernihiv region with strike drones. According to local authorities, at least six drones hit residential areas.

One of the drones struck the home of the head of the Pryluky fire service. Tragically, his family was killed in the attack — his wife, his daughter, who was a police officer, and her one-year-old son.
