Kyiv under drone assault: Explosions heard as Shahed drones swarm capital

Explosions were heard in Kyiv last night, June 6. The capital is under attack by Shahed drones, and air defense forces are actively responding, according to the Ukrainian Air Forces on Telegram.
"Enemy drones are approaching the capital one after another from multiple directions and over the city’s airspace. Explosions are loud in different parts of Kyiv. Air defenses are active," said Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
He also warned that there is a possible threat of the enemy using missile weapons.
According to the Ukrainian Air Forces, several Shahed drones have been spotted over Kyiv from the north and south.
Night attack on Ukraine — June 6
Last night, Russian forces launched a massive wave of attacks across various regions of Ukraine using kamikaze drones and missiles. Earlier reports confirmed explosions in Chernihiv and active air defense operations in Odessa and other regions.
Previous Russian attacks
On the night of June 5, Russia carried out another large-scale strike on Ukraine. The attack resulted in casualties, including deaths and injuries, with children among the victims.
RBC-Ukraine also reported that Russians struck the Kherson Regional State Administration building with a guided bomb. In the Odesa region, a lyceum, a medical clinic, and a children’s center were hit.
