Explosions rocked Volgograd: Drones attacked local oil refinery
On the night of February 3, explosions were heard in the Russian city of Volgograd. Unknown drones are reportedly attacking a refinery owned by Lukoil, according to Russian Telegram channels and the channel of the head of the CCD (Center for Countering Disinformation), Andrii Kovalenko.
Initially, there was no official information about the attack. Later, Russian channels began reporting an attack by UAVs on a local plant in Volgograd, without specifying which enterprise was targeted. Only after some time did the Baza channel confirm that the attack was reportedly directed at the oil refinery owned by Lukoil. Following the attack, power outages were reported in several areas of the city.
The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andrii Kovalenko, responded to the events, noting that something was once again hitting the Volgograd Refinery, which is among the top ten leading plants in Russia.
"It is important that it stops producing gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel, and supplying the Russian criminal army," he added.
A few days ago, the Ukrainian General Staff confirmed that on the night of January 31, Ukrainian forces attacked the Lukoil oil refinery in the Volgograd region of Russia.
"This refinery is among the ten largest oil refineries in Russia in terms of design capacity and is involved in supplying the Russian occupation army," the Ukrainian General Staff clarified at the time.
