A series of explosions was heard in Kyiv. The city is being attacked by Russian Shahed attack drones, according to the local correspondent and the Kyiv City Military Administration.

Explosions and the activity of mobile strike teams were reported in the central part of the city at 00:31 Kyiv time.

At 00:11 Kyiv time, Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, reported the fall of a UAV in the Desnianskyi district.

"Preliminary reports indicate no fire or destruction; emergency services are on their way," he wrote.

The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that the attack by strike drones on Kyiv is ongoing.

"There are still aerial targets approaching the capital. Air defense may be active," the administration stated.

Residents are advised to remain in shelters and follow all safety rules until the air raid alert is lifted.

Russian drone attack

On the evening of September 2, Russian forces attacked Kyiv three times with Shahed attack drones.

The first attack occurred around 09:30, the second at 19:00, and the third began after 22:00 and is still ongoing.

During the day, the Russian forces launched 53 drones across Ukraine, most of which were intercepted by air defense.

According to monitoring channels, there are currently 105 attack drones in Ukrainian airspace, most of them bypassing Kyiv toward the western regions. Air defense forces are operating in the Kyiv region.
