Russian forces, after the night attack on September 2, once again launched strike drones against Ukraine. They used more than 50 unmanned aerial vehicles, the Ukrainian Air Force reported.

According to the Air Force, the enemy launched drones from the northern direction. In total, there were 53 strike drones of the Shahed type and various types of decoy UAVs. Most of the drones were heading toward Kyiv.

"As of 16:00, air defense forces had shot down/suppressed 48 enemy UAVs," the military specified.

They also noted that the Russian attack was ongoing. As of 16:00, new groups of Russian drones were spotted in the skies over Chernihiv and Sumy regions.

Daytime attack

Earlier today, on September 2, an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv. Russian strike drones were flying toward the capital.

Later, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that air defense forces were operating on the left bank of the city.

By the afternoon, it became known that fragments of a Russian drone had been found on one of the central streets in the Holosiivskyi district.
