Explosions rock Kharkiv as drones attack city

In the early morning of June 2, explosions were heard in Kharkiv, the city is under attack by Russian drones. This was stated by Kharkiv mayor Ihor Terekhov, according to his post.
Explosions were heard in Kharkiv. "Russian drones are still over the city," the mayor wrote.
Later, the mayor reported several more explosions in the city. He also said there was information about hits in the Kholodnogirskyi district.
"There is a fire on site. Details are being clarified," Terekhov said.
Meanwhile, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported powerful explosions in the Shevchenkivskyi district.
"Information about casualties and damage is being clarified," he noted.
Syniehubov also added that Russian drone strikes were recorded in the Kholodnogirskyi district of Kharkiv.
"There is a fire. At this time, no calls about casualties," he said.
Russia's attack on Ukraine
On the night of June 1, Russia launched a strike on Ukraine using attack drones. The Air Forces also warned of a possible threat of ballistic missile use.
Several explosions were heard in Kyiv, and the city’s air defense system was active.
Additionally, according to available information, Russian forces attacked critical infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia.
On the night of May 25, Russia carried out one of the largest attacks on Ukraine, launching 298 drones and 69 missiles of various types. Air defense forces destroyed 45 missiles and intercepted 266 drones.
Thirteen regions, including Kyiv, came under fire. More than 10 people were killed and dozens were wounded. Among the dead were three children from the Zhytomyr region.
The night before, on May 24, Russian forces also launched a massive strike on the capital using drones and ballistic missiles.
