In the Djankoy district of Crimea, the air defense system was activated, according to local Telegram channels.
According to local residents, the air defense system was activated in the village of Kovylne in the Rozdolne district of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The explosion was heard around 18:45.
The reaction of the "authorities" in Crimea
The so-called head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, stated that in the northwestern region of Crimea, an enemy UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) was shot down by air defense forces.
Shortly before this, a fire broke out in a military unit in the occupied city of Simferopol.
Explosions in Crimea
In recent months, there have been increasing incidents of explosions in Crimea. These incidents sometimes involve attacks on the Russian fleet, missile strikes, or drone attacks on the peninsula or the Crimean Bridge.
For example, during a special operation by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on the night of August 4th, drones damaged the landing ship "Olenegorskiy Gornyak." Additionally, on the following day, drones also attacked the large oil tanker SIG, which was heavily loaded with fuel.
Recently, there have also been drone attacks on the Crimean Bridge. As a result, two sections of the bridge's structure were damaged.
Furthermore, on August 18, there were reports of gunfire from large-caliber weapons in Crimea, and smoke was visible not far from Yevpatoriya.
