Powerful explosions have occurred in Tokmak, the Zaporizhzhia region. The city is under Russian occupation, according to the Telegram channel of the mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov.
"How is Tokmak doing? Residents are reporting several loud explosions," he wrote.
The city of Tokmak is considered one of the key positions for the Russians in Zaporizhzhia region. It is located on the route to Melitopol.
The Situation in the Zaporzhizhia region
The Russian forces occupied territories along the coast of the Azov Sea in the early months of the full-scale invasion. Currently, the Russians are daily shelling populated areas in the Zaporizhia region.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian military forces have intensified their offensive actions in Zaporizhia Oblast this summer. Battles are taking place on two fronts - Melitopol and Berdiansk. Recently, our defenders liberated the populated area of Robotine and continue their advance in that region.
