Several explosions occurred in the Samara region, Russia, overnight on March 10, amid reports of a threat of an airstrike. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were reportedly detected in the area, according to local Telegram channels and public groups.
It was reported that in the Samara region, a drone threat alert was declared around 11:30 p.m. local time. This information was shared by local Telegram channels in Samara.
Later, reports began to appear online about explosions heard in the Samara region, specifically mentioning a "strike" sound in Novokuybyshevsk during the night.
Subsequently, footage allegedly recorded by surveillance cameras in the Novokuybyshevsk area surfaced on the internet. The video showed flashes in the sky, likely from explosions, and the sound of sirens, along with noises characteristic of drones.
It was also claimed that the target of the drone strike was the Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery, which is part of the Rosneft group. It is worth noting that the refinery had previously been attacked by drones almost exactly a year ago.
Meanwhile, local authorities have not made any statements regarding the explosions or the consequences of the airstrike in the Samara region.
