Explosions were heard in the cities of Kursk and Kurchatov in the Kursk region, as well as in the city of Taganrog in the Rostov region, on the night of December 8. Air defense systems were deployed in these areas in response to an aerial attack, according to Russian media and the Telegram channel of Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) at Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council.

In the Kursk region, a threat of drone attacks was declared at midnight. By 3 a.m., a missile threat was also reported.

Later, local Kursk forums began mentioning the activation of air defense systems. Subsequently, it was announced that the missile threat had been lifted.

According to Russian media, several explosions were heard in Kursk after the air raid siren sounded.

Kursk-based Telegram channels also reported explosions in the area around the city of Kurchatov, claiming they were quite powerful.

Furthermore, footage purportedly from Kursk during this nighttime strike was shared online.

Earlier that night, the Russian publication Astra reported that residents of Taganrog spoke about hearing an explosion.

Russian media reported that there were at least six explosions in Taganrog, and before them, characteristic sounds typical of drones were heard.

As reported by Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) at Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, in his Telegram channel overnight, Kursk, the Kursk region, and Taganrog were under attack.

Explosions were heard in Kursk on November 25, and air defense systems were also active at that time. It was reported that after drone strikes, the Kaluganefteprodukt oil depot in the city caught fire.

On the night of November 24, explosions were heard in the Kursk region amid an air attack involving missiles and drones. Reports on social media indicated that the area around Kursk and Kurchatov was particularly loud.

Later on November 24, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that Ukraine's Defense Forces had struck a Russian missile regiment in the Kursk region, specifically targeting a radar system of the S-400 missile defense complex.
