Powerful explosions were heard in Kyiv due to an attack by Russian cruise missiles, according to RBC-Ukraine's own correspondent and the Ukrainian Air Force.

At 03:51 Kyiv time, the military reported high-speed targets from Chernihiv heading toward the Kyiv region.

A few minutes later, the missiles entered the airspace of the Kyiv region and were moving toward the capital.

Around 04:00, a series of explosions rang out in the capital.

At 04:21, the Kyiv City Military Administration reported a fire in a multi-apartment building in the Shevchenkivskyi district. Information about casualties is being clarified.

Additionally, in the Podilskyi district, a car caught fire and a blaze broke out in a non-residential building as a result of the attack.

Combined Russian attack

On the night of June 23, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on Kyiv and the Kyiv region using numerous strike drones as well as ballistic missiles.

Initially, the capital was heavily attacked by dozens of Shahed drones.

Later, around 02:30 a.m., powerful explosions occurred in the city due to a ballistic missile strike.

Buildings, cars, the Sviatoshyn metro station, and the surrounding area were damaged in the capital. There are casualties.
