Everyone drinks it every day: Beverage that causes cellulite
Cellulite is a common issue that affects even young and slim women. There's a belief that consuming coffee can lead to the development of cellulite. As it turns out, this can indeed happen, and it's important to know how to avoid it, according to the Ukrainian doctor and trainer Ulyana Verner.
How coffee causes cellulite
According to an expert, the consumption of coffee itself cannot cause cellulite or, more accurately termed, gynoid lipodystrophy.
This condition is considered normal and is observed in 98% of women worldwide. It is important to know that the first and second stages are physiological.
However, caffeine can transition from the physiological first and second stages to the third and fourth stages, which are pathological.
Excessive coffee consumption stimulates the kidneys and has a diuretic effect, leading to fluid loss in the body.
This can emphasize cellulite itself. We are talking specifically about excessive coffee consumption, specifically more than 3 cups a day.
It is also important to note that adding milk, sugar, various syrups, and whipped cream to coffee can exacerbate body swelling and further emphasize cellulite.
What else can cause cellulite
Even if there is no significant predisposition to cellulite formation and the body's water-lipid balance is working perfectly, the problem can arise due to an unfavorable lifestyle. In order not to increase the risk of formation, you should avoid:
-
Sedentary work. Spending eight hours sitting almost motionless with legs crossed can disrupt circulation and lead to swelling.
-
Lack of physical activity. Without regular exercise, there is an increased risk of fat accumulation.
-
Wearing very tight clothing. Such attire can restrict blood flow in the limbs and promote fluid retention, thus contributing to cellulite development.
-
Cigarette smoking. Nicotine narrows blood vessels, hinders oxygen delivery to cells, and impedes fat burning.
-
Fluctuations in estrogen concentration (sex hormones).
