After an overnight drone attack in Taganrog, emergency crews began evacuating residents from homes inside the emergency zone as firefighters continued battling a blaze that remained out of control, according to Taganrog Mayor Svetlana Kambulova.

Urgent evacuation

"The drone threat in the city remains. We are currently urgently evacuating people whose homes have fallen within the emergency zone," Kambulova said.

Rescuers are continuing to remove residents from the danger zone, although the authorities are not directly stating the real reason for the evacuation.

Fire at the port and damaged building

Earlier, Rostov region Governor Yury Slyusar reported that a fire had broken out at the seaport in Taganrog after drone strikes.

According to local authorities, the fire also damaged the roof of an administrative building. There were no deaths or injuries as a result of the attack.

On the night of July 10, drones attacked Taganrog for several hours, causing fires to break out in two parts of the city at once — near the port and close to the aviation college.

According to an OSINT analysis by ASTRA, the fire broke out at the Kurgannefteprodukt oil depot.

There are also problems in occupied Crimea. On July 8, Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin demanded that the government speed up a decision on subsidies for Crimea and Sevastopol because of the fuel crisis.

He proposed building a network of small oil refineries to reduce the impact of Ukrainian strikes.

Meanwhile, the following day, July 9, it became known that Ukrainian drones had disabled up to 40% of Russia's oil refining capacity, leaving around 50 million Russians without fuel.
