European troops do not appear in Ukraine in coming weeks - Macron

French President Emmanuel Macron has stated that European troops will not be deployed to Ukraine soon. He believes that deploying ground forces would only be possible later, following a ceasefire, reports Le Figaro.
According to Le Figaro, the French president does not believe in a ceasefire agreement between the US and Russia regarding Ukraine. He is convinced that Russian leader Vladimir Putin will primarily seek to humiliate Ukraine, particularly through its demilitarization.
While en route to Britain, ahead of a European leaders' summit, Macron spoke about a Franco-British peace plan proposing a one-month truce for Ukraine.
He later suggested that European troops would only be deployed to Ukraine later.
“There will be no European troops on Ukrainian territory in the coming weeks… The question is how we use this time to try to secure an acceptable truce, with negotiations that will take several weeks, and then, after a peace agreement is signed, the deployment of troops,” French President Emmanuel Macron said.
Macron added that we want peace, but not at any cost and without guarantees.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated today that the Trump administration would be ready to resume dialogue with Ukraine once Ukrainian officials are prepared for peace. He emphasized that establishing peace must come first, followed by discussions on security guarantees.
