US will resume talks when Ukraine is ready to make peace, Rubio says

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio outlined the conditions under which President Donald Trump and his team would resume dialogue with Ukraine. Specifically, this would happen when Ukrainian officials are ready for peace, according to Rubio's interview with ABC News.
"We'll be ready to reengage when they're ready to make peace," said the US Secretary of State. Then, he added that they had told the Ukrainian side several times that peace must come first, and only then could security guarantees be discussed.
He also mentioned that he had not spoken with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy or Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha after the Ukrainian delegation left Washington following talks with Trump.
Other Rubio's statements
In the same interview, the US Secretary of State stated that the US is trying to force Russia to come to the negotiating table and that Trump is the only person who has a chance to make this happen. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is allegedly not giving diplomacy a chance.
