European Commission commends Ukraine's progress in green energy development
During the UN Climate Summit COP28, Executive Vice President of the European Commission Maroš Šefčovič praised the development of green energy in Ukraine and specifically acknowledged DTEK's contribution to ensuring a green transition, says Šefčovič during a panel discussion at COP28.
"I have often been to Ukraine before the war, and I told you that you can be Europe's powerhouse. You can be a European powerhouse in renewable energy, green hydrogen. This is because you have all the necessary components in your country to become a very important player in future-oriented technologies," said Šefčovič.
As part of COP28, DTEK's CEO, Maxim Timchenko, thanked the Vice President of the European Commission for recognizing DTEK's contribution to the green transition in the context of the construction of the Tyligulska Wind Power Plant.
Earlier, DTEK and Vestas, a leading global wind turbine manufacturer, signed a memorandum envisaging the completion of the construction of the largest wind power plant in Eastern Europe, the Tyligulska Wind Power Plant.
The total investment in the project exceeds 650 million euros, and the installed capacity of the station will be 500 MW.
