European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that Europe will continue to support the strengthening of Ukraine and its armed forces. At the same time, Europe will intensify its own defense efforts.

She specifically expressed her gratitude to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer for today's video conference call, where support for Ukraine was discussed. In addition, the European Commission president confirmed support for the ceasefire agreement, noting that the next move is up to Russia.

"Thank you, Keir Starmer, for hosting the leaders' meeting today. We reiterate our support for Ukraine’s agreement to a ceasefire. Now, Russia has to show that it is willing to support a ceasefire, leading to a just and lasting peace," she wrote.

Von der Leyen also added that support for the Ukrainian army would continue while Europe began to strengthen its own defense.

"In the meantime, we will support strengthening Ukraine and its Armed Forces following our 'porcupine strategy.' Finally, we will step up Europe’s defense efforts through ReArm Europe, boosting defense spending," Ursula von der Leyen concluded.

After discussions with colleagues from across Europe and other countries, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer made a series of statements. He also confirmed that the coalition of nations would strengthen both the defense capability and the Ukrainian army.

Additionally, he said that if Russian President Vladimir Putin does not agree to a ceasefire, the countries will increase pressure to push him into negotiations.
