At the 2025 European Championships in the Dutch city of Apeldoorn, Ukrainian athlete Oleh Doroshchuk triumphed in the indoor high jump, securing a gold medal for Ukraine. Athlete Dmytro Nikitin finished in fifth place in the final, according to the Ukrainian Athletics Federation.

A native of Kropyvnytskyi, 23-year-old Doroshchuk won his first indoor athletics medal at the Euro-2025 championships, and it was a gold one.

In Apeldoorn, the Master of Sports of Ukraine, bronze medalist at the European Championship (2024), confirmed his status as the world season leader in the high jump.

On his first attempt, Doroshchuk matched his best result with a 2.32m jump and flawlessly cleared all previous attempts.

"After that, he also cleared 2.34m on his first try, improving both his record and the world season's best result," the Federation notes.
