The European Union will hold a special summit on Ukraine at the leaders' level in Angola, reports European Council President António Costa.
Costa, along with other European leaders, will participate in the European Union–African Union summit in Luanda, the capital of Angola.
In his statement, he said EU leaders welcome Washington's efforts to establish peace in Ukraine. They also agreed that the initial 28-point draft could serve as the basis for a peace agreement, though it requires further refinement.
He added that the European side will continue to closely coordinate its actions with Ukraine and the US in the coming days.
"Work continues. I have invited all 27 EU leaders for a special meeting on Ukraine in the margins of the EU-AU Summit in Luanda on Monday," Costa said.
Earlier, European leaders issued a joint statement on US President Donald Trump's plan for Ukraine, highlighting key observations. The statement stressed that borders should not be altered by force and expressed concern over Washington's proposal to reduce the size of the Ukrainian army.
According to Bild, European leaders seek to revise at least four of the 28 points in Trump's peace plan.
Consultations are scheduled for November 23 in Geneva at the level of national security advisors, involving France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, and the US.
From Ukraine, participants will include Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak and Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov. From the US, the delegation will comprise Special Envoys Dan Driscoll and Steve Witkoff, along with Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
