The European Union is ready to play its full part together with its partners in future peace talks between Ukraine and Russia, stated European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

The head of the European Commission said the EU welcomes today’s news from Jeddah regarding US-Ukraine talks, including the proposal for a ceasefire agreement and the resumption of US intelligence sharing and military aid.

"This is a positive development that can be a step towards a comprehensive, just and lasting peace for Ukraine," Ursula von der Leyen emphasized.

Ukraine-US talks in Saudi Arabia

Today, on March 11, negotiations took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, between Ukrainian and American delegations.

One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the US decision to resume military aid to Ukraine. Additionally, intelligence sharing between the two countries will also be resumed.

Furthermore, Ukraine is ready for a 30-day ceasefire with Russia. This initiative was proposed by the US during the talks.
