EU not approved 50 billion euros for Ukraine yet, but chances persist
The European Union has not yet approved the allocation of 50 billion euros for Ukraine. However, it will revisit the discussion on the matter, according to Richard Yozwiak, the European editor of Radio Liberty.
The journalist stated that Ukraine achieved success in the EU enlargement, but experienced a setback in funding. However, the chances of receiving 50 billion euros remain.
"So a symbolic victory for Ukraine on enlargement but a loss on financing. but EU leaders will come back in late January to agree on the 50 bn euro - with hopes that Hungary will be onboard..." wrote Yozwiak in his post.
Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban wrote on his Twitter profile that the veto has been imposed on aid to Ukraine and that they will return to this issue next year.

EU aid to Ukraine
The European Commission has proposed allocating 50 billion euros to Ukraine over the next five years. This decision needs approval from all EU leaders, and they will discuss it at the summit scheduled for December 14-15.
Earlier, Hungary threatened not to agree with allocating 50 billion euros to Ukraine and demanded that the EU unfreeze 30 billion euros intended for Hungary. The European Commission partially fulfilled the demand by unfreezing 10 billion euros. To unfreeze the remaining funds, Hungary needs to meet certain conditions.
It was also reported that EU leaders reached broad agreement on the budget within the multiannual financial framework.
