The European Military Command has developed a plan to deploy troops in Ukraine, which will involve the creation of two separate land forces, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The first group will be responsible for training and assisting the Ukrainian military, while the second will be responsible for forming a deterrent force to prevent further attempts at Russian aggression.

Commitments have already been made to deploy more than 10,000 troops.

Ukrainian airspace will be patrolled by NATO aircraft located outside Ukraine.

European states are now awaiting a decision from the administration of US President Donald Trump on the level of support from the United States.

Donald Trump held an intense telephone conversation with European leaders after the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris. Representatives of EU countries proposed to send their delegates to Washington within 48 hours to set up a working group on sanctions against Russia. However, it remains unclear whether Trump agreed.

Leaders of a number of European countries, including German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, met in Paris on September 4 to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine.

Before the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that the preparation of security guarantees for Ukraine had been completed. The contributions of the allies were documented and confirmed at the level of defense ministers.
