Estonia delivers new aid package to Ukraine, featuring Javelin missiles
Estonia has delivered a new military aid package to Ukraine, including Javelin anti-tank missiles, according to a statement by the Estonian Ministry of Defense.
It is noted that Javelin missiles, purchased by Estonia in December, have already arrived in Ukraine. The aid package also includes machine guns, ammunition for small arms, various ground and water vehicles, as well as diving equipment.
"I am pleased that another aid package has reached Ukraine, and Ukrainian defenders are using it. Recent events in Europe show that the delivery of crucial missiles and other military aid to Ukraine continues on a large scale, and this time, with our allies, we send a clear message to the Kremlin that we will continue to support Ukraine until there is a decisive end," said Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur.
The exact volume, arrival time of this aid package, and other supply details are not disclosed for security reasons.
The Ministry of Defense adds that since 2022, Estonia has provided military aid to Ukraine totaling nearly 500 million euros, or about 1.4% of the gross domestic product.
Estonia's assistance
From the early days of the full-scale war, Estonia condemned Russia, provided military and financial aid to Ukraine, and accepted thousands of refugees. The President and Prime Minister of Estonia were among the first to visit Ukraine last spring.
Earlier, the Estonian government approved a new military aid package for Ukraine, including 155mm caliber ammunition.
Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas also urged the EU to expedite the production of shells for Ukraine to deliver the promised one million artillery ammunition.
