In the Lyman-Kupiansk direction, as well as in the Bakhmut area, the Russian occupiers created a layered system of electronic warfare (EW). Its elements constantly change their location, says the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi in an article by The Economist.

The Ukrainian commander noted that one of the main advantages of Russian EW equipment is the establishment of serial production of the so-called "trench electronic warfare" in the aggressor country. We are talking about such tactical level systems as Silok, Piton, Harpun, Piroed, Strizh, and Lisochok.

According to Zaluzhnyi, despite the fact that since the beginning of the large-scale military aggression against Ukraine, the Russians have lost a significant part of this equipment, now the enemy continues to maintain a significant advantage in electronic warfare.

"Along the Kupiansk and Bakhmut axes, the enemy actually established a layered electronic warfare system, the elements of which constantly change their location," the general wrote.

Also, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that in the Ukrainian army by 2022 such modern assets of radio-electronic combat against UAVs such as Bukovel-AD, Anklav, Khmara, Nota have proven themselves well in battles.

"But despite this, at the beginning of the war, about 65% of jamming stations types in units (elements) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were produced by the former Soviet Union, and there were only 25 new ones," said Zaluzhnyi.

Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine expressed the opinion that the Russian Federation could increase the number of aviation to 8 divisions by the end of 2023.
