Kovalenko explained that there was no breakthrough in the Novenke area.
"Currently, the Russians are attempting assault actions along the border line without vehicle columns, using infantry groups. The defense forces are destroying the enemy. At the moment, there has been no breakthrough, and the fighting continues," he wrote.
Russian assault purpose
Kovalenko explained that the enemy’s objective is predictable and understandable - Russians are trying to penetrate the rear of the road running from Yunakivka to Sudzha to disrupt the logistics of the Defense Forces.
"But this plan is well known, and countermeasures are being taken by the Defense Forces," he added.
Battles results to be reported later
"Regarding the results of the battles on the Sumy border, additional information will be provided in the future," Kovalеnkо wrote.
Front situation
Regarding the situation at the front, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported 128 combat engagements on the frontline in the past 24 hours. The enemy is particularly active in the Pokrovsk and Novopavlivske directions.
According to Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, Ukrainian forces have managed to slow the enemy’s advance on most of the threatening sections of the Novopavlivske direction.
