US President Donald Trump has once again claimed significant progress in efforts to end the war in Ukraine, according to the White House livestream.

During a press briefing, Trump noted that three months ago, his administration brokered a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan. He emphasized that this was one of eight wars the United States has helped end in the past eight months.

Now, the United States aims to end the war in Ukraine, and, according to him, progress is being made.

"We're looking to end one more if that's possible. Russia and Ukraine. We haven't gotten there yet, but I think we've made a lot of progress," the US president said.

Ending war in Ukraine

Yesterday, Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff said there has been "some progress" in resolving the war in Ukraine, adding that this conflict "needs to be settled next" after Gaza.

Trump himself recently stated that Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin had reached out to him several weeks ago for help in ending the war in Ukraine, allegedly telling him that he had been trying to do so for ten years without success.

Trump has repeatedly said the war in Ukraine could be ended quickly. When asked if "a couple of months" was realistic, he replied affirmatively.

The current US president has also repeatedly claimed that the war between Russia and Ukraine would be the ninth conflict he could help resolve.
