Ukraine's top tennis player, Elina Svitolina, shared new photos with her followers on social media, posing in the Ukrainian national football team's jersey. Her post came with a bit of a mystery.
'A symbol that we are together'
In the photos, Svitolina is wearing the new Ukrainian national team jersey, which was unveiled only recently. On November 13, in Paris, the Blue-and-Yellows will take the field wearing this kit for the first time.
"The new national team jersey is a symbol that we are together. One team: on the field and among the fans! I wish our team success and victories," Elina wrote.
Svitolina, who is married to French tennis player Gaël Monfils, currently lives in Paris, so she will likely attend the match at the Parc des Princes stadium.
What does the number 3 mean?
On Elina's jersey, the number 3 is printed. The tennis player addressed her followers with a question about it.
"Any ideas why number 3?" she asked.
Following her post, a lively discussion broke out in the comments.
The most popular variants of answers are her career-high WTA ranking of world No. 3, attained at the peak of her career, a reference to the bronze medal she won at the 2020 Olympics, and the fact that her daughter, Skai, is three years old.
As a reminder, the France–Ukraine match will take place in Paris on November 13 and will kick off at 9:45 PM Kyiv time.
