Ukraine plans to increase production of defense against enemy drones, in particular, electronic warfare equipment and ground-based unmanned platforms, stated the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

"Electronic warfare is clearly not enough," he said.

According to Fedorov, the market for drones in Ukraine has increased a hundredfold in a year, and the electronic warfare market will follow the same example.

"With so many drones on both our side and the enemy's side, the issue of electronic warfare arises. Now we are doing everything we can together with the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff to open the market and launch the maximum number of players in this market to start competition because we need thousands of electronic warfare stations, trench electronic warfare," he said.

Fedorov added that the first contract for a large number of turrets for remote control of machine guns was recently signed.

"These are the first results of opening the market for ground platforms. Remotely operated ground drones will mine, clear mines, perform evacuation functions, and deliver ammunition," he said.

The minister said that he could not talk about this in more detail in order not to jeopardize the manufacturers.

As a reminder, Japan is allocating $37 million to help Ukraine. The money will be used to purchase drone detection systems.
