An earthquake struck Türkiye today, May 15. It was felt in Ankara, where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is currently located, according to Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), as reported by TRT Haber.

According to AFAD, a magnitude 5.2 earthquake was recorded at 15:46 in the Konya region.

The epicenter was located at a depth of 18.73 kilometers, and the tremors were felt in Ankara and nearby provinces.

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya also confirmed the information.

"All AFAD teams and relevant agencies immediately began on-site inspections. As of now, no adverse effects have been reported. I extend my best wishes for a swift recovery to our citizens affected by the earthquake," the minister said.

Zelenskyy's visit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Türkiye today, May 15. He arrived in Ankara, where he had already met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Zelenskyy had also proposed a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, Putin declined and instead sent a low-level delegation to Istanbul.
