Dutch PM: F-16 delivery to Ukraine on schedule, 24 aircraft to be delivered
The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, which leads the air coalition, spoke about the progress in the delivery of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
"We hope to hand them over as soon as possible... There is progress in these matters. We are basically on schedule. So this is good news," Rutte explained.
Regarding the number of aircraft Ukraine can count on, the head of the Dutch government noted that there will be more than 20 of them.
"There will be 24 fighters, maybe more, but not less... We are working together with the Danes and others," the Dutch Prime Minister emphasized.
Transfer of F-16s to Ukraine
Earlier, Ukraine's allies announced the creation of an aviation coalition to provide our country with modern F-16 fighters. The coalition was led by the Netherlands and Denmark.
Recently, it was officially announced that the first group of Ukrainian pilots had completed the basic training program in the UK and started training on F-16s in Denmark.
In late December, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said that the Dutch government had decided to prepare the first 18 F-16 fighter jets for delivery to Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the head of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, said he expects to see the fighters in the sky this spring.
