Dutch Foreign Minister David van Weel arrived in Kyiv. He stressed that his country would continue to support Ukraine in its struggle against Russia.

"Day after day, Russia terrorises Ukrainians with its horrific attacks. Innocent people are suffering. With winter around the corner, families are left without power and gas," David van Weel says.

He also notes that his key message in Kyiv today is full support for Ukraine in its fight against Russia.

Netherlands' aid to Ukraine

Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Netherlands has been actively supporting Ukraine. In particular, Amsterdam is supplying Kyiv with weapons and military equipment to help Ukraine resist Russia.

On October 13, the Netherlands announced that it would provide Ukraine with a €200 million support package to intercept Russian drones and create a defense cluster for its companies in Ukraine.

Earlier, the Netherlands provided €209.5 million in financial support for the restoration of critical infrastructure in Ukraine.

Also, earlier, Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans noted that the Netherlands is preparing another military support package for Ukraine worth €90 million. The funds will be used to produce reconnaissance and strike drones.

According to him, the Netherlands will support Ukraine with capabilities for deep strikes to increase Russia's costs. He also said that the Netherlands would support a possible US decision to transfer Tomahawk long-range missiles to Ukraine.
