The Netherlands, together with Finland and Sweden, intercepted Russian military aircraft over the Baltic Sea, as announced by Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans on Twitter (X).

"Our F-35s demonstrate vigilance against Russian threats on a daily basis. Yesterday (December 17 - ed.), together with Finland and Sweden, we intercepted Russian aircraft equipped with supersonic missiles over the Baltic Sea. Maintaining security requires unwavering readiness," Brekelmans wrote.

It is worth noting that he did not specify which Russian aircraft were intercepted.

Interestingly, Russian military aircraft were also spotted yesterday in Alaska's air defense identification zone. They remained in international airspace and did not enter the sovereign airspace of the United States or Canada.

Last month, the United Kingdom scrambled fighter jets due to a Russian aircraft near its borders. However, the Russian plane did not violate British airspace.

Additionally, in August, Poland deployed F-16 fighter jets to track a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance plane over the Baltic Sea.
