On June 28, Ukraine’s Constitution Day, Polish President Andrzej Duda arrived in Kyiv for a farewell visit, according to Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha on X.

The Foreign Minister welcomed Duda at Kyiv’s Central Railway Station early on the morning of June 28.

"President Duda has stood by Ukraine's side during the most difficult times of Russia's full-scale aggression. We are grateful to him and all Poles who have shown true solidarity with Ukraine," Sybiha said.

Duda’s visit comes on a symbolic date — Constitution Day. He is expected to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

This is most likely Andrzej Duda's farewell visit to Ukraine. In August, he will leave the presidency of Poland.

In early June, Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited Andrzej Duda to visit Ukraine before the end of his term. He confirmed that he would come on a farewell visit.

Andrzej Duda has been the President of Poland since 2015. He was President for two consecutive terms. Duda's successor as president of Poland will be Karol Nawrocki. He is to take office on August 6.
