On Wednesday, April 15, drones attacked petrochemical enterprises in Russia’s Republic of Bashkortostan, the head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation, Andriy Kovalenko, stated.
What is known about the attack
According to Kovalenko, the city of Sterlitamak came under the drone attack. It is one of Russia’s key centers of chemical and petrochemical industry.
In particular, the Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant is located there, producing ionol — an additive used in aviation fuel and lubricants for military equipment.
The city also hosts other enterprises that supply critical components for aviation and missile technology, including materials used in the production of explosives, propellants, and ammunition.

According to him, debris fell on the territory of one of the enterprises.
“Debris fell on the premises of one of the enterprises. All emergency services are working at the site, extinguishing a fire that broke out. We are clarifying the details,” he wrote on Telegram.
Strikes on Russia’s oil infrastructure
Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue systematic strikes on Russia’s logistics and energy infrastructure.
Recently, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed a successful strike on the Krymsk oil pumping station, a key facility supplying Russian occupying forces.
Ukrainian drones have also demonstrated the ability to strike targets at distances exceeding 1,000 kilometers. Notably, two Russian offshore drilling platforms in the Caspian Sea were recently hit.
Despite calls from some Western partners to refrain from attacking Russia’s energy facilities, Ukraine continues to implement its strategy.
As stated by Kyrylo Budanov, Ukraine will not stop strikes on Russian oil infrastructure, as they directly weaken the enemy’s ability to wage war.
