Drones targeted Russia's largest maritime trade port, considered the second-largest after Novorossiysk, according to the Telegram channel ASTRA.

Russia's largest maritime trade port, Ust-Luga, was reportedly targeted by drones in the Leningrad region today, January 4.

According to ASTRA, most of the drones were intercepted over the Novatrans terminal within the Ust-Luga port. Preliminary reports indicate that windows in one of the port's buildings were damaged. Local authorities stated that four drones were shot down and claimed there were no casualties or significant damage.

About Ust-Luga Port

The Ust-Luga maritime trade port began operations in December 2001 with the opening of a coal terminal. By the early 2020s, it became Russia's second-largest port, following Novorossiysk.

Previous attacks on Ust-Luga

On January 21, explosions occurred near the oil terminal in the Ust-Luga port. It was later revealed that these explosions were part of a special operation by the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU). The port processes fuel used to supply Russian forces on the frontlines.
