Drones attack Russia: Oil refinery ablaze in Kirishi, airfield targeted in Yeysk

On the night of August 30, Russia came under a drone attack. As a result of the attack, one of the country's largest oil refineries caught fire, and an explosion occurred at one of the facilities, according to Russian Telegram channels and OSINT sources.
The Leningrad region was the first to come under attack. At approximately 2:06 a.m., the region's governor reported that a drone threat had been declared for the region.
Shortly thereafter, Russian air defense forces reportedly began taking out targets, and according to the latest reports, 42 drones have already been shot down.
At the same time, footage from the scene began appearing on social media, showing a fire. OSINT sources claimed that the drones had attacked the Kirishnefteorgsintez oil refinery. By early morning, the governor himself confirmed the attack on the oil refinery and the fire.

Kirishnefteorgsintez is one of Russia's largest oil refineries. Its refining capacity is approximately 20 million metric tons of crude oil per year.
In addition, the Krasnodar Krai region of Russia, specifically the city of Yeisk, was targeted last night. Following a series of explosions, Russians reported prolonged secondary detonations. Some OSINT sources speculated that an ammunition depot may have been attacked.

Drones also flew toward Moscow last night. Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that 10 drones were shot down.
Other strikes
On August 28, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces had struck the Slavnafta-Yanos oil refinery in Yaroslavl. A fire broke out on the facility's grounds following the attack.
According to Bloomberg, gasoline production in Russia fell to 70% of domestic consumption levels by the end of August. All of this occurred following Ukrainian attacks on oil refineries.
Russia also extended its ban on diesel fuel exports for manufacturers. This decision was also made in response to Ukraine's attacks on oil refineries.
