The first reports of explosions in Novorossiysk appeared around 22:50 Kyiv time. Local residents complained about bangs, and the city mayor, Andrey Kravchenko, reported the closure of traffic in the area of the waterfront.
All of this occurred not only amid attacks by standard drones but also by sea drones. Almost immediately after the first explosions, footage of a fire appeared on social media.
A little later, clarifications appeared that the port had been attacked, causing a fire at an oil terminal. Local authorities have not commented on this.
Previous attacks on Novorossiysk
In mid-November 2025, the Security Service of Ukraine and Ukraine’s defense forces also struck the port of Novorossiysk, through which the Kremlin exports oil and gas.
As a result of that attack, oil-loading terminals on the piers, pipeline infrastructure, and pumping facilities were damaged. A fire also broke out at the facility.
In addition, on the night of November 25, Ukraine also attacked Novorossiysk. The targets were an oil-loading terminal and a large landing ship.
