Drone attacks in Russia

On February 23, long-range drones of the Security Service of Ukraine attacked the main oil pumping station near Almetyevsk in Tatarstan.

The facility receives oil from Western Siberia and the Volga region, mixes it, and prepares it for export. In addition, the station is an important hub for the Druzhba oil pipeline, through which raw materials are transported, including to Europe.

During the strike, at least six explosions were heard, after which a large-scale fire broke out on the territory of the facility. It was reported that oil tanks caught fire.

The fire was also captured on satellite images taken on the morning of February 24.

This was the second attack on Tatarstan in recent days. In particular, on February 21, a drone attack was reported in Tatarstan, Russia, prompting the cancellation of Maslenitsa celebrations in Kazan.

Also, on February 17, residents in the Krasnodar region reported a drone attack and a fire at an oil company. Numerous photos and videos of the aftermath of the strikes by unknown drones appeared on social media.

In addition, attack drones struck the Metafrax chemical plant in the Perm region of Russia, causing a fire. The plant is known to produce explosive components.
