Drone strike sparks epic fire at Russian plant in Kstovo (photo, video)

In Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region in Russia, a massive fire broke out at one of the factories. It erupted shortly after a drone attack, the news agency RIA Novosti and Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Andrii Kovalenko, report.
A bitumen production unit is burning in the city of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region, and two tanks containing petroleum products, each with a capacity of 200 cubic meters, have been destroyed. There is also a known threat of the fire spreading to neighboring tanks.
Notably, an air raid alert was declared in Kstovo in the morning due to UAVs. However, whether the fire is a result of a strike is still unknown. At least one drone was captured on video.
Meanwhile, the Russians reported that a firefighting train had been dispatched to the scene of the fire.
According to Russian media, tanks with bitumen are burning there, after the substance spilled over an area of 100 square meters.
"There is a fire in a bitumen production unit with a total volume of 200 cubic meters. A firefighting train departed from the Zelecino station to the site," said a statement from the rescue services.
Kovalenko also noted that Russian Telegram channels reported a possible fire at the Kstovo refinery operated by Lukoil.
The Lukoil refinery is one of the key assets in Russia's fuel sector, which directly supports the war effort. From here, streams of petroleum products supply the Russian military with fuel for aviation, armored vehicles, and rear logistics.
Moreover, the Kstovo refinery supplies not only internal military convoys but also delivers fuel to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. In other words, this plant is a part of the enemy’s deeply integrated military-industrial complex.
