In Odesa, as a result of the nighttime attack by Russian occupiers using Shahed kamikaze drones, a person was killed and there was a strike on a multi-story building. Several civilians, including a child, were injured, according to the Telegram channel of the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.

The official updated information on the consequences of the enemy's aerial attack on the city and reported a fatality.

"Unfortunately, there is one fatality due to the Russian attack," the statement reads.

The head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration added that the search and rescue operation at the impact site is ongoing.

Earlier, in the administration, it was mentioned that due to the Shahed attack, residential multi-story buildings were damaged, and specialists are continuing to work on-site, clearing debris under which people might be trapped.

Initially, there were reports of four casualties, but later the information was updated, and the number increased to seven individuals.

"A 3-year-old child suffered leg injuries and is currently under medical supervision. Six adults, preliminarily, are in a condition of moderate severity," reported the official.

Meanwhile, in Odesa Telegram channels and public pages, photos have been published, as indicated, from the site of the Shahed impact on a residential building. Suspilne Odesa also later released images.

As reported by the Odesa City Hall, due to an attack by the Shaheds in a densely populated area, a part of a multi-story building collapsed.

"Another terrorist attack on a peacefully sleeping city. Densely populated area. It's just awful here. Rescuers, municipal, and emergency services are working on-site. Debris clearance is underway," said the Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.

He specified that the deceased was a young person and added that medical assistance is being provided to the injured.

Additionally, the attack damaged utility networks and a boiler room, leading to the disconnection of adjacent buildings from heating.

Shahed strike on Ukraine on the night of March 2

Earlier, it was reported that in Ukraine on Friday evening, air raid sirens began to sound in various regions. The reason was another aerial attack by Russian invaders who launched drones of the Shahed type.

Around midnight in Kharkiv, explosions occurred during the air raid alert. As later explained by the city administration and the Regional Military Administration, there was a strike on one of the city's districts, causing a fire. Two cars were reported to be on fire, windows were shattered in several multi-story buildings, and garages were damaged, but there is no information on casualties.

Later, it became known that air defense forces and means were deployed in the Odesa region due to the Shahed attack. There were at least two explosions in the city.

As later reported by the police of the Kharkiv region, enemy drones struck a residential area in Kharkiv and a private house in the town of Velykyi Burluk. A 76-year-old civilian died in the latter incident.
