Drone production for Ukrainian army launched in Czechia
The Czech-Ukrainian company UAC has launched the production of reconnaissance and attack drones for the Ukrainian army, reports E15.
The production is located near the city of Kolín. Leleka-LR reconnaissance drones and Bulava attack drones will be produced there. It is planned to make hundreds of such drones annually.
"In November, we started trial operation, and in April, we started mass production. This is basically a military production, our exclusive customer is the Ukrainian army," said Pavlo Bulant, the company's executive director.
UAC is a branch of the private Ukrainian company DeVIRo, which has been producing unmanned aerial vehicles since 2014. Currently, the Czech production facility employs 80 people, most of them Ukrainians. Only one-fifth of the employees are Czech citizens.
Production of Ukrainian drones
Ukraine increased the production of drones during the full-scale war, both reconnaissance and attack drones. Besides, Ukraine has created unique naval drones that attack Russian ships.
Recently, state defense company Ukroboronprom announced that it had launched mass production of attack drones with a range of over 1,000 kilometers.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine had created drones that can fly up to 1,300 km. But, in his opinion, drones will not replace missiles.
