Drone drops paint on Russian Embassy in Sweden: What is known
Unknown individuals attacked the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Stockholm, Sweden. They dropped paint on the building using a drone, Dagens Nyheter reports.
According to local police, a drone flew over the Russian Embassy in the western part of Kungsholmen, Stockholm, on Friday night. The drone dropped colored paint onto the diplomatic mission's premises. Embassy guards raised the alarm at 2:15 a.m. local time.
"We deployed a helicopter to search for the drone but could not locate it. We spoke with an embassy employee who confirmed that paint had been dropped," said Stockholm police spokesperson Mats Eriksson.
Currently, the incident has been classified as vandalism, although it may not be an isolated case.
What preceded
Recently, unknown individuals attacked the Swedish Embassy in Moscow. A group of people used gas canisters in the security room near the embassy. Local police detained them for their actions.
NATO-Russia war risks
Ukraine and several Western countries believe that Russia might start a war against NATO. Kyiv suggests that the Kremlin could target Poland or the Baltic states.
According to Estonian intelligence, Russia is already preparing for a new military conflict that could begin within the next decade. Meanwhile, Germany predicts that Moscow might launch aggression against NATO as early as 2029.
Recently, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte stated that the alliance members must change the trajectory of Russia's war against Ukraine.
