In Ryazan, residents reported loud explosions on the night of November 20. Earlier, the city had issued a drone danger alert, according to Russian media.

The threat of drone strikes in Ryazan was announced shortly before midnight on November 19.

Residents were advised, as usual, not to approach windows, to go to a safe location, and to remain there until the danger signal was lifted.

After 2 a.m., local social media pages, citing their subscribers, began reporting loud explosions.

Residents also complained about unidentified drones in the sky over the city and the region.

A drone danger alert had been issued over Dyagilevo Airport.

There were reports of air defense systems in operation.

The pro-Ukrainian Telegram channel Exilenova+ published several videos of explosions in Ryazan and suggested that unidentified drones may have targeted a local oil refinery.

The Ryazan oil refinery produces gasoline, diesel, liquefied gas, and about 840,000 tons of TS-1 aviation fuel per year, which is used by the Russian Aerospace Forces.

Attacks on Ryazan

Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported on a small airborne balloon that allegedly targeted Ryazan. Russian authorities first reported such a threat on November 18.

A corresponding warning was issued for Ryazan city and the Ryazan region. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, this concerns a new type of aerial target, prompting a heightened alert regime.

The Ryazan refinery was also attacked on November 15. At that time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out a series of precision strikes on key Russian military and infrastructure targets, significantly reducing the enemy’s ability to conduct missile and bomb attacks. Among these targets was the Ryazan refinery, where multiple explosions and a large-scale fire were recorded.
