Drone attack on the oil refinery in Volgograd

Drones have been periodically attacking the Volgograd oil refinery - LLC Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka.

Every year, this facility in Russia processes over 15 million tons of oil, which accounts for nearly 6% of the country’s total refining capacity. The plant produces diesel, gasoline, and aviation fuel, all of which are critically important for supplying the Russian army.

For instance, on August 16, Russians reported an incident in Volgograd, where a column of smoke rose in the area of the refinery. An air raid alert was declared in the city, and the airport suspended both arrivals and departures.
