Russians targeted civilian infrastructure in the suburbs of Odesa during a kamikaze drone attack. As a result of the strike, fires broke out and injuries were reported, according to the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.

“Russian forces once again attacked the Odesa region with strike drones. This time, they targeted civilian infrastructure in the suburbs of Odesa,” the official said.

He also reported that the Shahed strikes caused “several fires.”

The head of the regional administration added that “all relevant services” were working to eliminate the consequences.

Later, the official said that, according to preliminary information, two people were injured as a result of the Russian drone strike.

“Doctors are providing them with all the necessary assistance,” Kiper wrote.

Another drone attack on Odesa

As reported earlier, several explosions were heard in Odesa late on April 22 during a threat of drone strikes launched by Russian forces.

Monitoring groups and local channels reported that the strike drone attack was massive. Air defense activity was also reported.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, several groups of Russian strike drones were moving from the Black Sea toward Odesa region, including in the direction of Odesa and Chornomorsk. Shahed groups were also spotted in the suburbs of Odesa.

In addition, Odesa-based media and social media channels reported large fires in the city as a result of the drone strike by Russian forces. Relevant footage was also shared online.

This drone attack on Odesa region came just a day after the previous Shahed strike. On the evening of April 21, a massive drone assault by Russian forces in Odesa injured three people.

It was later confirmed that Russian forces had targeted residential buildings in a densely populated area of the city. Reports also indicated that the drone attack damaged civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, an educational institution, and vehicles.

By the morning of April 22, emergency services reported that the fires caused by that massive drone strike in Odesa had been extinguished.
