Fires in Odesa after massive drone attack - residential buildings and school damaged

As a result of a massive Russian drone attack, civilian infrastructure in Odesa was damaged, and large fires broke out in the city, according to Odesa Regional Military Administration head Oleh Kiper.
The official noted that on the evening of April 21, Russian forces "launched a massive drone attack on Odesa using strike UAVs."
As a result of the attack, civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, an educational institution, and vehicles in the city were damaged, the head of the regional administration said.
He also reported that fires had broken out in Odesa.
"All relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences of the Russian attacks. Information about casualties is being clarified," the official added.
Densely populated district hit - photos show aftermath
According to the city council, Russian forces targeted residential areas in one of Odesa’s densely populated districts.
“There is a fire on site, with emergency and utility services working. Many apartments have been damaged. Residents are still in shock. Information about casualties is being clarified,” said Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov.
The city administration also released photos showing the aftermath of the drone strike.

“In the morning, a local district administration emergency center will be set up to provide consultations on how to apply for financial aid to repair windows and doors, as well as compensation from the state budget under the eRestoration program,” the mayor added.
Russian drone strikes on Odesa - April 21
Several explosions were heard in Odesa on Monday evening following warnings from the Air Force about an imminent drone threat.
Monitoring groups reported a large-scale drone attack on the city. Online sources indicated that around 25 Shahed-type attack drones were observed over Odesa.
Local social media pages also reported fires in the city caused by the airstrike, with videos and photos of the aftermath shared online.
