In Russia’s Tula region, unknown drones attacked the Efremov Synthetic Rubber Enterprise. Locals reported on social media at least 10 explosions, according to Russian media.

“Efremov… Tula region… reports of a glow in the factory area… locals heard 10 explosions,” reads a post on one Telegram channel, which shows a video of the attack during which the explosions can clearly be heard.

Social media posts also indicate that firefighters are on their way to the scene.

Tula Region Governor Dmitry Milyaev reported on the evening of December 23 about the danger of a drone attack in the region. Later, in the early hours of Wednesday, he wrote that the threat of drone strikes still persists.

The Efremov Synthetic Rubber Enterprise is one of the first producers of synthetic rubber and high-molecular-weight polyisobutylene in Russia.

In recent years, the plant has faced a decline in sales and profits, partly due to falling demand and changing market conditions.

The governor of Russia’s Tula region confirmed an attack and a fire at one of the enterprises.

“A fire broke out on the premises of one of the enterprises in the Tula region. The open flames have now been contained. There are no casualties,” Dmitry Milyaev wrote.

Meanwhile, Russia’s Ministry of Defense claims that 172 unidentified drones were allegedly shot down overnight.

In May of this year, a chemical plant, Azot, in the Tula region was attacked. The drone attack caused a fire, and three people were injured.

A few days later, strike drones left residents of Tula and the surrounding region without electricity. Prior to that, 14 explosions were reportedly heard in the sky.
