Unknown drones attacked Borisoglebsk in Russia’s Voronezh region during the night of July 5. Following the strike, a fire was reported near a military airfield, according to Russian Telegram channels and NASA's fire monitoring system.

In particular, today Russian residents reported that around 2 a.m. local time, powerful explosions were heard in the sky over the city. According to SHOT, there were about 8–10 loud blasts.

There have been no official comments regarding the consequences of the attack. However, before the explosions, the regional governor, Alexander Gusev, had warned of a drone threat and later claimed that several UAVs were allegedly shot down.

Closer to morning, NASA’s fire monitoring system reported a fire in the area of the Borisoglebsk military airfield.

The consequences of the fire and the exact target of the attack remain unknown at this time.

Drone attack on Russia

Explosions also occurred last night in the city of Cheboksary (Chuvash Republic). Residents captured video footage of the impact and a fire, reportedly at one of the local industrial facilities.

Additionally, explosions were heard during the night in Engels, Saratov region. Some Telegram channels reported that a military airfield was likely targeted.
