Drone attack causes power outages in Kyiv and surrounding region: Details
On the night of November 2, Russian forces attacked Kyiv and the region with drones, causing damage to the electrical networks, reports DTEK.
"Today, the enemy once again attacked Kyiv and the region with drones. As a result of falling debris, three instances of network damage were recorded," the report states.
Kyiv
This morning, a strike on a transit high-voltage line in the Kyiv region led to power outages in the capital.
"Part of the homes in the Holosiivskyi district were left without electricity. DTEK energy specialists quickly restored power to customers within an hour," the company reported.
However, the high-voltage line itself requires repairs.
Kyiv region
One instance of damage to distribution networks caused outages in the Bucha district.
"Power was restored to all homes by 11:47," DTEK stated.
Additionally, network damage was recorded at 10:57 in the Vyshhorod district, where energy workers are continuing repair efforts.
Russian attack on Ukraine
During the night of November 2, Russian forces launched dozens of drones at Ukraine, most of which were intercepted.
However, there were damages and injuries reported. In Kyiv, a fire broke out in a high-rise building due to falling debris from a drone, resulting in two injuries. Damage was recorded in six districts overall.
In the Kyiv region, an elderly woman was injured, and damages were found in four districts.
Furthermore, a business was damaged in the Cherkasy region, while an elevator was hit in Khmelnytskyi.
